Specific tips to share when calling the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (Hotline) PDF Print E-mail

If you think you've seen or encountered a victim of human trafficking, we encourage you to call the National Hotline at 1-888-3737-888. But what kind of information should you report when you call the hotline? The best information is something that can be acted upon by local law enforcement to follow up and hopefully begin an investigation. Below is a list of some specific tips that would be helpful when reporting to the hotline, if it can be obtained.

*Descriptions of cars (make, model, color, etc.)

*Descriptions of people (height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc.)

*Age (did she look like a minor?)

*Specific time and dates (What time did you see the event in question take place? What day was it?)

*License plate numbers

*Addresses and locations that suspicious activity took place in

These types of traceable tips will go a lot further in allowing law enforcement to take action against traffickers and hopefully lead to the rescue of a victim.

Truckers Against Trafficking

Create a Display

Creating display space for Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) materials is a good way to create awareness of the human trafficking issue and educate members of the trucking industry on what they can do to fight it. This photo shows space created in the back main hallway of the Knoxville West TA TravelCenter for TAT materials. Drivers stop by all the time to read the material and take a wallet card. This TravelCenter also has a spot for TAT materials at their fuel desk and service bay waiting area.
