You Can Help Create a National Campaign for Truckers Against Trafficking

This site, www.truckersagainsttrafficking.com, is the first component of a campaign for and by truckers and trucking companies against human trafficking. As the eyes and ears of America's roads and highways, truckers have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the fight to end human trafficking.

If you would be interested in giving financially to help make this campaign a reality, you can do so through Chapter 61 Ministries, a 501c3 organization, by clicking here.

You can give to help create or talk to the Safety Director at your trucking company about getting:
1. Training for truckers - A professional trainer, who provides train-the-trainer for law enforcement and service organizations nation-wide, as well as trained volunteers could provide a train-the-trainer human trafficking class for individual trucking companies and truck driver training programs to provide them with employees who are then able to include a human trafficking module in whatever training they provide trucking employees. Costs for training varies from $150-300 for a half-day to full day training, plus travel expenses to the training location. Chapter 61 can help them acquire a trainer.

2. Awareness/Education -- Newsletter, magazine, website and other communication vehicles can be used to speak to this issue on a regular basis to truckers, so that both awareness and education can increase, including how truckers can make a difference. Talk to other truckers about this issue and ask your company to put things in their communication vehicles to address human trafficking and truckers.

3. Identity as Protectors/Identifiers - Hats can be designed, ordered and created to identify truckers who want to be part of helping solve this problem as Truckers Against Traffickers (TAT),

4. Wallet cards for truckers - Chapter 61 has designed a wallet card for truckers that folds down to business card size or 3.5 inches by 2 inches or opens up to 3.5x4 with red flags to watch for and questions to ask if you suspect trafficking and trafficked individuals as well as the National Hotline number to call. Ask your Safety Director to contact us about getting some for drivers in your company.

5. Posters/flyers/brochures - Truckers could have posters, flyers and brochures they could post at gas station/truck stop/rest stop restroom and restaurant areas, if the owner grants permission, which would provide trafficking victims a number they could call to get help. These would also continue to create public education/awareness, continued education/awareness among truckers and show that truckers are a leader in this fight. Ask your Safety Director to contact Chapter 61 about putting your trucking company’s name on posters to show their support of this effort.

6. Convention presence - Truckers Against Trafficking could sponsor a booth at major trucking conventions specific to the issue of human trafficking and how truckers could help. This would be an invaluable resource, and we could get volunteers from several organizations to help man those booths.

7. Rewards – Trucking companies or Chapter 61 could create a monetary reward fund to provide $100 for each trucker call made to the national hot line that results in an arrest as an added incentive to be extra observant and make those calls. Please give to help make this campaign a reality and help truckers become a driving force in the fight against this egregious evil. Donations are accepted through Chapter 61 Ministries
